Creating SmartDesign apps

In SmartWe Team, extra costs are charged for creating custom data record types and database fields. You will not be able to create SmartDesign apps with SmartWe Team if you have not booked the payable option for the creation of custom data record types.

A SmartDesign app is an app which is based on a data record type. You can create an app for every data record type. An example of a SmartDesign App is the Tasks app.

Your administrator creates data record types in the data record type area of the Administration App.

Procedure

  1. Click New app in the toolbar.

  2. This button is only available on the SmartDesign App homepage.

  3. Select SmartDesign app.
  4. Select the data record type.

  5. In the list, you can see all your custom data record types for which you have not yet created an app.

  6. Select the Background color of the icon or, alternatively, enter a hexadecimal value for the desired color directly in the text field.
  7. If required, edit the App ID.

  8. The app ID is the internal description of the app. When creating an app, the App ID is generated and entered automatically. For the app to be identifiable, the App ID must always be unique. If you enter an ID which has already been assigned, you will receive an error message and you cannot save the settings.

  9. App IDs must always consist of two segments, for example, custom.contracts.

  10. Select an Icon for the new app.

  11. Possible file formats are .svg and .png. To ensure good quality, we recommend you use an icon in the .svg format, which is scaleable.

  12. Click Apply.
  13. The Display name window will open.
  14. Enter the name of the app in the respective language.
  15. Click Apply.
  16. The new app is inserted.
 
Tip

You have to publish your changes to make them available to all users and administrators.
