Creating a link field

The following describes how you insert a field. You can find the available functions when creating a field in the Functions section.

Procedure

  1. Activate the App Designer.
  2. Activating the App Designer

  3. In the app of your choice, open a data record in read or editing mode.
  4. Click Customize in the toolbar of the App Designer.
  5. Click Extend group in the desired group.
  6. You can first create a new group if required.

  8. Select Link field.

Functions

Data record type

Select the Data record type, for example, tasks.

Link type

The Link type field contains a list with all available link types. Select the desired link type.

Display

In the Display area, you define which information is displayed for data records.

Option/Field

Description

Standard

Default means that the settings of the linked data record are adopted. You can define this default settings via the Display options for data record types menu entry in the view menu of the App Designer toolbar.

Deactivate the Default option if you want to define custom settings for the element.

1. row

The value in the 1. row is displayed in large font and as a rule contains essential information on the data record, for example, the Keyword for a task.

The value in the 2. row is displayed in a smaller font and contains additional information on the data record, for example, the Editor of a task.
