Editing business metrics
You edit an element by clicking the element.
Heading
The following options are available to change a static header or title.

Data source
The data source consists of the data record type and the link types, filter criteria, and sorting settings you have defined while creating the element.

Background color
You can customize the color. To do so, enter a hexadecimal value or select a color from the color palette.
Display reference value
If you activate the Display reference value option, you can define an additional data source to increase the significance of the business metric.
After you have activated the option, two additional fields are displayed: Header (reference) and Data source (reference).
Header (reference)
In this field, you can enter the header for the reference value.

Data source (reference)
In this field, you can define the data source for the reference value.

| Click this button to select an entry from the list. The list displays all fields of the currently opened data record type. You can select one of these fields as a reference. Additionally, all aggregations that have already been created for this metric are displayed. |

Differing unit
Using the Differing unit option, you can display a specific unit for your business metric.
If you activate the Differing unit option, the Unit and Reference value fields are displayed. In these fields, you can enter a text independent of the type of fields you have previously selected to display the business metric. This way, you can extend your business metrics by any texts or icons.
The unit is always displayed behind the respective business metric.
The entry in the Reference value field is only displayed if you have activated the Display reference value option and defined the corresponding settings to display the reference value.
Hide automatically
For an element you can set how it should behave if no content is available.

Activated | An empty element is always hidden. |
Deactivated | A empty element is always displayed. |
Default (activated) Default (deactivated) | The setting of the parent element is adopted. The brackets always contain the value that is set for the parent element. A parent element can, for example, be the z-layout. |
Device classes
In the Device classes field, you can define the types of devices on which the elements can be displayed.

Web | The element is displayed in SmartWe in the browser. |
Visible
With the Visible option, you define whether the element should be displayed.
SmartWePremium
With this button, you can also enter a script to individually define the visibility.
Enabled
With the Activated option, you define whether the element is activated or deactivated.
If you clear the checkbox and thus disable the element, it will be displayed in read mode only. If buttons are available for the element, they will be displayed grayed out.
The Activated option is only available in the editing mode of a data record.
SmartWePremium
This button allows you to enter a script as an alternative if you want to individually control the activating and deactivating of the element.
Only readable
With the Only readable option, you define whether the element can be edited or is displayed in read mode only.
If you activate this option and the element is displayed in read mode only, any existing buttons will be completely hidden.
The Only readable option is only available in the editing mode of a data record.
SmartWePremium
This button allows you to enter a script as an alternative if you want to individually control under which conditions the element is displayed in read mode only.
Automatic update after (in minutes)
The contents of specific elements can regularly and automatically be calculated anew. You can set the interval in the Automatic update after (in minutes) field.
If you select Never, then the element will only be updated when loading the page.
Display
In the Display area, you define which information is displayed for data records.
Option/Field | Description |

Standard | Default means that the settings of the linked data record are adopted. You can define this default settings via the Display options for data record types menu entry in the view menu of the App Designer toolbar. Display options for data record types Deactivate the Default option if you want to define custom settings for the element. |
1. row | The value in the 1. row is displayed in large font and as a rule contains essential information on the data record, for example, the Keyword for a task. |
2. row | The value in the 2. row is displayed in a smaller font and contains additional information on the data record, for example, the Editor of a task. |
Display (table)
In the Display (table) area, you can select the columns you want to display in the table. This table is opened when a user clicks a value.
Click the button and select the desired columns.
If you do not define a setting, the default settings are used for the respective data record type.
