Creating an extension point (field)

The following describes how to insert an Extension point (field). You will see which functions are available when creating a field in the Functions section.

Procedure

  1. Activate the App Designer in the Administration app
  2. In the app of your choice, open a data record in read mode.
  3. Click Customize in the toolbar of the App Designer.
  4. When you are at the location at which you wish to insert a new element, click the respective button to insert the new element, for example, Extend z-layout.
  5. Select Extension point (field).
  6. Fill in the Extension point (ID) field and then click Apply.
  7. The element is inserted. If necessary, you can move the element to another position.

Functions

Extension point (ID)

When creating an extension point, the ID for the extension point has to be defined. For fields, the ID always begins with record.fields. and can be extended as you wish.
