Functions
Database field
Select the Database field you would like to display.
Field type
By selecting a field type, you change the display of the field.
The content of the Field type field cannot be changed retroactively. If, for example, you have inserted the E-mail (business) field as an E-mail field using the App Designer and now want to change the Field type to Basic field, the field may be displayed incorrectly after saving.
If you also wish to change the field type, then you have to remove the respective database field from the mask and then reinsert the field with the desired formatting.
Field type | Description |
|---|---|
Basic field | A basic field is a field which has no distinctive properties. The way the field is displayed depends on the field type of the database field. You can find an overview of the different display options on the following page: |
E-mail field | The content of an e-mail field is supplemented by a mailto link. When a user clicks such an e-mail address, they can send an e-mail to this address using their default e-mail client. The e-mail address is automatically inserted in the To field. |
Fax field | The content of a fax field is supplemented by a callto link. When you click a fax number, the default telephony or fax software opens. Which software opens depends on the settings of the respective computer. |
Markdown | With Markdown, you can offer formatting options for Text fields and Extraordinary text fields. By default, the field is inserted with the WYSIWYG editor mode. However, you can switch to Markdown editor mode. You can only display formatting in the read and editing modes of a data record. It cannot be displayed in dossiers, views, search results, and so on. |
Telephone field | The content of the telephone field is supplemented by a callto link. When you click a telephone number, the default telephony software opens. If the telephony integration via CAS Smart Add-on has been activated, your call is executed via the add-on. You can find more information on this in the SmartWe Online Help on the following page: SmartWe Online Help: Settings in the CAS Smart Add-on. |
Text field | A text field is displayed with several rows in the editing mode of a data record. |
Web link field | A web link field contains the URL of a website. When you click the URL, the associated website opens on a new tab in your browser. |
