Importing apps

SmartWePremium

Using the import function, you can import your own apps.

Requirements

  • You need to be an administrator for SmartWe to be able to import an app.
  • To do this, the App Designer has to be activated.
  • Activating the App Designer

  • The data for the app you wish to import must be available as a ZIP file.
  • The homepage for the app has to be open and on the left-hand side of the window the app icons have to be visible. You have to ensure that a full-screen app such as the Dashboard App, a data record or an app group is not open.
  • If you import a SmartDesign app, then the associated data record type has to have been created correctly. If this is not the case, then the allocation is not possible.
  • You can create the corresponding data record type in the Data record types area of the Administration app.

 
Note

If the app you are importing already exists in SmartWe, it is overwritten during the import. Make sure that the app you are importing is a compatible replacement, e. g. an update of the previous app. Otherwise, some apps may no longer be able to load properly.

Importing your own apps

  1. Click New app in the toolbar of the App Designer.
  2. Select Import app.
  3. Click Browse and select the ZIP file containing the app data on your computer.
  4. Click Import.
  5. The app is imported and a new custom app is created.
 
Tip

You have to publish your changes to make them available to all users and administrators.
