Administration > App Designer

On the General page, you can change the app name and the app icon settings.

You can open this setting at different locations in the App Designer:

  • In the App Designer area in the Administration app: Click the desired app in the App management block.
  • On the SmartWe homepage: Open the context menu of the desired app and select Edit app.
  • In the App Designer toolbar: In an opened app, you can find the Edit app menu entry in the view menu in the App Designer toolbar.

Note

These changes always apply to all app instances. If you, for example, have duplicated an app, the name of both the original app and the duplicated app is changed.

Display name

You can individually customize the Display name of the app. The name of the data record type is not changed in the process.

The following options are available to change a static header or title.

Function

Description

With this button, you remove the current header.

With this button, you select a header. In the list, you can find all texts available for the open app.

With this button, you change the text of the header.

 
Note

This text may appear in different locations. If you edit the text, it will be changed in all locations.

System texts cannot be edited.

Using this button, you can enter a new text.

  • The Key (ID) field is completed automatically and you do not have to change it.
  • You can enter the text in any of the languages which are available in SmartWe.

Background color of the icon

Select the Background color of the icon or, alternatively, enter a hexadecimal value for the color you desire directly in the text field.

Icon

Select an Icon for the new app.

Possible file formats are .svg and .png. To ensure good quality, we recommend you use an icon in the .svg format, which is scaleable.

 
Tip

You have to publish your changes to make them available to all users and administrators.
