Customizing the display of data records

You can customize the way data records are displayed for SmartDesign Apps. You can use custom displays for both the read- and editing modes of a data record.

The changes in the different modes are independent of each other, however, they can be copied into each of the different modes.

Copying read or editing mode

Note

During customization, the SmartWe functions are not available. If you are editing a form with the App Designer, you will not be able to enter values into the fields of the open data record.

Customizing apps in read mode

  1. Open an app, for example, Documents.
  2. Open a data record.
  3. Click Customize in the toolbar of the App Designer.
  4. You can now customize the elements on the page you have open in read mode.

Customizing apps in editing mode

  1. Open an app, for example, Documents.
  2. Open a data record.
  3. In the data record, click Edit to open the form for entering data.
  4. Click Customize in the toolbar of the App Designer.
  5. You can now customize the elements on the page you have open in edit mode.
